It is like an impassable road block within you, hindering any chance of true healing and recovery. Although the help of a qualified counsellor or psychologist may be recommended by us, we are still able to help with the treatments below.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)EFT is a powerful self-help method based on research showing that emotional trauma contributes greatly to disease. Clinical trials have shown that EFT tapping is able to rapidly reduce the emotional impact of memories and incidents that trigger emotional distress.
Once the distress is reduced or removed, the body can often rebalance itself, and accelerate healing. EFT uses elements of Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy, and combines them with Acupressure, in the form of fingertip tapping on 12 acupuncture points. Over 100 papers published in peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals, including dozens of clinical trials, have demonstrated that EFT is effective for phobias, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, pain, and other problems. |
Eye Movement Desensitation & Reprocessing (EMDR)EMDR is fairly new in New Zealand and considered a ‘non-traditional’ type of psychotherapy. However in many parts of the EU, it is the routine and orthodox initial treatment for mood disorders. It is rapidly growing in popularity, particularly for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD often occurs after experiences such as military combat, childhood abuse or car accidents. Again, it must be emphasised that we are not psychologists, however we can either recommended someone for you or guide you through self-help EMDR process.

Repeated studies show that by using EMDR people can experience the benefits in a few sessions that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. EMDR therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.

Herbal MedicineNaturally, being herbalist, we also utilise the power of nature to assist us on the road to recovery. The herbs we use are all backed by research and we will happily supply you the references if you are interested in the academic literature. However herbs should in no way compensate for action on your part or to be used simply like a medication. The goal is not to remain on any herb indefinitely but to help the body in the process of slowly being able to not require any form of supplementation in order for it to be balanced and whole.
