Here we conduct a thorough case take session to evaluate current health status and investigate the root cause of any health issues or symptoms presenting. Questions will also be asked regarding current lifestyle, sleep habits, exercise, work, hobbies etc. to evaluate if any improvements to lifestyle are needed to improve the presenting health complaints or symptoms. A brief Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) session may be conducted towards the end of the consultation as well as other physical examinations such as skin, hair, nail, tongue and/or blood pressure. Any current medications or supplements will be documented and any relevant pathology tests will be considered/looked at.
The initial consultation is required so we can have all the essential information required to formulate a specific natural treatment plan and appropriate natural medicine prescription. All factors must be considered and assessed to perform a holistic health review and identify important systems, pathology or symptoms that are a priority for treatment. Our Responsibility and Scope of Practice
Naturopaths are trained as primary healthcare practitioners in whole person, client-centred naturopathic medicine in ambulatory settings. The safety of the client is paramount. Our scope of practice consists of health assessment, disease prevention, health promotion and management of acute and chronic conditions by stimulation and support of the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
Modalities utilised by our naturopaths include nutrition, dietary intervention, lifestyle coaching, herbal medicine, physical and mind-body therapies and energy techniques such as EFT. As we are registered in New Zealand we must have a science-based, peer-recognised qualification that underpins our scope of practice. Continuing education is required in naturopathy and/or naturopathic and herbal medicine and related competence. As we are also registered Medical Herbalists we may manufacture, formulate, prescribe and dispense herbal medicines.
Your Responsibility
Our clients need to be aware and understand that we are not ‘medical practitioners’ and as such, we do not diagnose or claim to cure any medical conditions or illnesses. We do not claim to guarantee results even if we have had success with another client in a similar situation to yours who’s symptoms or illness has improved. Just like any other industry professional we do not know absolutely everything. There will be certain health conditions we have more knowledge and experience in than others. If we do not know an answer to a question we will not pretend to know, we will do our best to research and find the correct answer as soon as possible.
During the consultation we need to know as much as possible about a symptom, illness, situation or response so we can make an accurate decision for advice and prescription to increase chances of improvements for you.

Any allergic reaction may indicate a sensitivity or allergy to a herb so it is your responsibility to notify us immediately so we can rectify or cease that particular treatment.
Please notify us if you experience any current symptom getting worse. When providing information to us during your consultation or via other forms of communication (phone, email, text, instant messenger) we assume you are providing us true and accurate information.
If for whatever reason you have not provided accurate information please notify us immediately. Sometimes there is a lot to remember and share, or you may feel embarrassed or just simply forget. If this is the case, please notify us as soon as you recall that you have left anything out as it is essential for us to have all the accurate information on your health status and history.
Follow-up Consultation / Subsequent Appointments
The first follow-up consultation will generally be 5-6 weeks after your initial consultation date. These are similar to the initial consultation where we conduct a thorough case taking session to evaluate current health status and assess if there has been any progress from commencement of natural treatment.
Similar questions will be asked to assess how body systems are functioning, evaluate personal health history, dietary evaluation to investigate nutritional status and look for any potential deficiencies or food sensitivities, intolerances, allergies.
Any new symptoms/conditions will be discussed, should they surface and investigate the cause.
Questions will be asked regarding current lifestyle, sleep habits, exercise, work, hobbies to evaluate if any improvements to lifestyle are needed to improve presenting health complaints or symptoms.
Physical examinations may be conducted again towards the end of the consultation such as skin, hair, nail, tongue and/or blood pressure. Any current/new medications or supplements will be documented and any relevant pathology tests will be looked at.
All factors must be considered and assessed to perform a holistic health review and identify important systems, pathology or symptoms that are a priority for continued treatment.
Thorough follow-up consultations are essential to have knowledge and understanding of what the client’s current health status is, what the purpose of his or her visit is and how we can help.
Medications, supplements and pathology results are required so we can prescribe beneficial and safe natural treatment while significantly reducing any risk of potential side effects or unwanted interactions.
Liquid Herbal Tinctures
We are fully qualified and registered as Medical Herbalists which means we can formulate and dispense liquid herbal tinctures which are tailor made for the client. We offer these herbal tinctures because they are specific to the client’s health symptoms and illness and are customised with the aim to achieve desired treatment outcomes.
Each single herb has a therapeutic range including a minimum and maximum weekly dosage. This enables us to design and formulate a liquid herbal prescription with the client’s health goals in mind. We are able to choose single herbs which are more appropriate for the clients health requirements and adapt the amounts of each herb specific to the desired outcome for the tincture.
Dietary Planning
We are also qualified and registered as a Clinical Nutritionist. This means we can legally provide nutritional advice to clients.
During the initial consultation we will evaluate your current diet and ask questions about what type food you are eating on daily basis. We will be asking you to provide us with examples of your breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and any deserts or treats you will eat. We will be asking about the amount of liquids you consume including water, coffee, tea and other beverages both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. We will be asking you to specify what fruit and vegetables, animal and vegetarian protein sources, dairy and non-dairy products, carbohydrates, fats and any other miscellaneous types of food you consume either regularly or occasionally.
We offer dietary planning as a service because it is essential to improve nutritional status, correct deficiencies and remove any food groups that may be causing sensitivities, intolerances, inflammation or contributing to the symptom or overall illness of the client.
A thorough dietary evaluation is essential to ensure a beneficial treatment plan is provided so we can make professional and accurate nutritional decisions. The consultation is a safe and non-judgmental space and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your personal information about what you eat and drink. Please do not feel ashamed or embarrassed about your eating habits, we are here to help you so it is important you feel comfortable to be completely honest with us.
Events and Workshops
We conduct educational events and workshops which are based around different health topics. Each event may differ slightly and may involve a collaboration with one or more other health professionals, therapists, qualified instructors or coaches and business owners.
As qualified Naturopaths it is our responsibility that we provide accurate and beneficial information with clinical significance. We only collaborate with other qualified health professionals, therapists, coaches, instructors or business owners who have sound knowledge and training in their industry. Many of these products are ‘Practitioner Only’ and have been independently tested and/or have clinical trials supporting their efficacy. We ship these products using various couriers, depending on the products ordered and which suppliers they are coming from. We ship to anywhere within New Zealand and make our best efforts to deliver products to the address specified by you during checkout within 5-10 business days of your order confirmation.
Upon completion of your purchase, our team will organise for your products to be dispatched as a priority. REFUND/RETURN POLICY
The nutritional supplements sold on this site are covered by our one-month full refund guarantee if the products supplied to you are defective on arrival. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to notify us that the products are defective.
To get your refund, you need to inform us by e-mail [info@holisticwellness.co.nz], giving the date of purchase, name of the product/s and the order number by confirmation e-mail after your purchase.

- These policies of limitations and exclusions are not to be used frivolously. We reserve the right to refuse to give refunds if we believe the claim is frivolous or without substance.

Payment for consultation services or products may be paid over the phone, online or in person. We have a mobile eftpos facility which we take to each clinic location and mobile consultation. Alternatively, you can pay via direct bank transfer, the bank account details will be provided when an invoice is created after the service is completed or product is prescribed.

Information - When you place an order through this website, you need to provide your name, email, phone number, address and credit card details (if paying by card). This information allows us to process and fulfil your booking/order successfully. It also helps us in maintaining your account.
Protection - We use a secure server for your bookings/order. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the sensitive customer data we collect is protected by several layers of encryption and several layers of security to prevent unauthorised access.
Card Details - All credit card payments are processed securely through the Stripe. Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. Holistic Health & Wellness does not store any credit card information on our servers.
Cookies - "Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information. They allow you to place your online order/booking and to login once you are subscribed . Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that. A 50% deposit is to be paid on the day and the remaining balance to be organised into a payment plan depending on the client’s personal situation. If you are experiencing financial difficulty at any time during the course of your treatment, please notify us as soon as possible so we can arrange a mutually beneficial financial arrangement.

When you book a consultation your contact information (name, phone number, address and email) will be entered into our online booking software (Simple Clinic). You will receive an automatic confirmation email plus a reminder email 2 days before and a reminder text 24 hours before your consultation. These reminders will ask you to complete an online health form at least 48 hours prior to your consultation. This form will take you approximately 5 minutes and is important that we have a brief understanding of your current health condition before your visit.
All initial consultations (face-to-face, online, phone and mobile) will take approximately 90 minutes, any subsequent consultations will take approximately 30-60 minutes.
Parking: There is plenty of space in our carpark at the Helios Health clinic where our primary clinic is based.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy. If you have to cancel your consultation for any reason, please give us as much notice as possible. We are a busy clinic and if you can not make an appointment, there are others who can take that allocated time. If you fail to give the clinic the 48 hours notification, you risk being charged 100% of the booking fee.
We do understand that emergencies or unforeseen circumstances occur so please notify us as soon as possible so we can discuss this fee. If you cannot make your face-to-face in clinic consultation on the day we can arrange this to be done over the phone or online with short notice so let us know as soon as possible. This will prevent you from incurring a cancellation fee.
