Probiotic for beneficial gut flora, bowel function and immune health in children.


  • A randomised, double blind, placebo controlled trial measured the effect of NCFM and Bi-07 on immunity in 326 children aged between 3-5 years old in day care. There was a significant reduction in the incidence and the number of sick days (Figure One) in children taking NCFM and Bi-07. The daily probiotic supplementation also reduced the use of antibiotics as well as days missed from school and day care. The study showed that the combination of NCFM and Bi-07 worked better than NCFM alone.
  • A review of eight randomised controlled trials, with 988 infants up to 36 months of age supports the use of LGG® in the treatment of acute diarrhoea, by significantly reducing the duration of diarrhoea. In one of the RCT’s, evidence showed LGG® to effectively reduce diarrhoea from six days to three days in 100 children aged between 3 and 36 months of age.
  • If children have been taking a course of antibiotics, Flora Care for Kids may assist in maintaining the levels of normal healthy flora that may have been disrupted: A randomised trial of 202 children aged 6 months to 10 years, measured the effectiveness of LGG® alongside a 10 day course of antibiotics compared to placebo. In children taking LGG®, there was a reduced incidence and duration of Antibiotic Associated Diarrhoea.
